Jason Schneider Esq,. Attorney for parasail death victim "Alejandra  White" demands FL Legislators remove her name from  the "amended " parasail safety bill SB392 because of its lack of safety regulation.

JASON SCHNEIDER ESQ. EMAIL COORESPONDANCE WITH SENATOR JONES

From: Jason Schneider

Subject: RE: Alejandra White Law

Dear Senator Jones:

I represent the Estate of Alejandra White, the 27 year old woman who died on September 11, 2011  after the parasailing accident at Clearwater Beach, leaving behind a young daughter.    The family was very moved to learn that you proposed to name Senate Bill #329 in her memory and to know that the changes proposed by you could prevent another such tragedy.

Mark McCulloh, the foremost safety expert in this field,  has brought to my attention that you have recently proposed an amendment to the original Senate Bill # 329 which changes the bill in a manner which has the effect of removing key safety components leaving it as a parasail safety bill in name only.

Alejandra’s family was happy to lend her name in an effort to bring attention to the importance of effective parasail regulations that included important equipment changes.

However, should the amendment be adopted, then it is the wish of the family NOT to associate Alejandra’s name with it.  Following such disassociation, I will be making a press release explaining our decision.

This email is being copied to your colleagues. We urge you all to vote to present the bill to the Legislature without the latest amendment.

Should additional information be needed, please do not hesitate to contact me.
