1979 Military Contract Solicitation Proposal 1979, The US Air Force in Homestead FL contacted McCulloh to submit a bid to replace their aging motorized parasail platform aka (LST) with a Winchboat. The Survival School was run by the US Air Force even though instructors wore Navy uniforms. The motorized platform was used to launch parasail students who were towed aloft by a second vessel to a pre-determined altitude where the student released themselves using a quick release system to descend into the water, then used their training to escape from the parasail and survive the mock water landing in high winds and rough seas. previous next
