  The Effects of Misinformation!

Don't me questions, and I tell you no lies!

In the past, parasail equipment manufacturers often confused operators with inaccurate descriptions of their products, features and safety related issues including operating manuals.  To often these inaccuracies have and encourage dangerous behavior and become the catalyze to accidents and injuries.

Additionally, misinformation extends to inaccurate reporting of parasail accidents which  has become a logistical nightmare for the USCG, local boating law enforcement and risk managers.  It is estimated that only about 5% of the total parasail accidents occurring in the USA  have ever been reported and more often are classified under misc. boating accidents which can be difficult to research.

To date, parasailing has not been recognized by the U.S. Department of Transportation and therefore does not appear in national surveys and/or authenticated report
